As an update on the status of things since the last journal: the new Tamuran site is up and running, if you haven't seen it yet. And this week we launched our Kickstarter to fund the printing of Book 2 of the comic - more about that below. And with those things accomplished, I am back from (semi-)lurking for a while, with a backlog of art and other things to post (but not all at once).
As for Tamuran, we just finished Book 2, and will be starting up Book 3 with Chapter 13 on Friday. This chapter will be fun, if a bit overly filled with buildings to draw for my taste. Then in chapter 15 we'll get to hang out with some new point of view characters. Feels like we're starting to get somewhere!
I was excruciatingly tempted to do NaNoWriMo again this year - got an image into my head that I wanted to write about a week or so before November - but it's a little late for it now. If I started I would HAVE TO HIT 50K WORDS OR ELSE, and with everything else I need to get done this month that would not be a terribly fun state to operate in. So for now I am having fun hoarding plot threads and character notions like the shiny shiny baubles that they are, and once those have settled I'll see if I can get into the habit of putting down a page or three per day just to see where they go. Good luck to all of you who are doing NaNo this year! I will be cheering you on from the sidelines!
And as for the Kickstarter - we have books, dragon stuff, watercolors, glitter (thanks to Chezhnian), music (including Irish bagpipes!) and more. And we're happy to be supporting a really awesome local business by printing with the same small print shop that did Book 1. So if you like Tamuran or any of those other things, please check out the campaign. It is a very ambitious undertaking for us, and we will need all the help we can get to spread the word, so please share the link and tell everybody!

Tamuran dA group
We finally set up a group for Tamuran:
#TamuranComic (https://www.deviantart.com/tamurancomic)
Check it out if you're so inclined, and feel free to join or submit things. I think I tagged all the Tamuran fanart on dA for inclusion in the gallery (pending approval by the artists), but if I missed any let me know. Also let us know if you have any suggestions or fun things to do with a Group (I'm still learning the mechanics of them).
Tumblr
Letting everybody know that I finally gave in and set up a Tumblr: http://ancient-trees.tumblr.com/
I'll be posting sketches and things as well as Tamuran update notices. And it'll hopefully be good motivation to do more sketching that isn't comic pages...
The Tamuran Book 2 Kickstarter campaign is about halfway through, and we're about 26% funded. Anything can happen in the next two weeks (and we've got a few fun campaign things to reveal), so we're not giving up just yet. But if you have anyplace to share the campaign link, we'd appreciate the help!
Also, for one of the Book 2 extras, we're doing an 'ask the characters' section. We've se

We'll be at Anime Weekend Atlanta this weekend, at table E05 in the Artist Alley - come see us!
Unfortunately the Tamuran website is down. I'd been working on redoing the whole thing, including a switch over to a different comic management plugin. Finally got everything ready to upload and took the live site down last Wednesday to convert it over, and while the conversion was time-consuming, it went pretty smoothly. All but one unexpected issue, which apparently has to do with some server-side configuration things and hadn't come up in the offline test version of the site. Our webhosts said they'd look into it, and at this point we're still
Tamuran Chapter 11 is now updating + a request
Been a while since I posted anything on here. I've got a decent stack of art to upload, but for now I'm just posting a note to let people know that Tamuran is now updating again with chapter 11 (finally!). You can read the latest comic page here. Or start reading from the beginning here.
Also, ~RobinRone (https://www.deviantart.com/robinrone) is running a Kickstarter campaign to fund the printing of Volume 3 of her intricately-woven fantasy webcomic LeyLines! It's got just under a week left and a significant amount to go, so please check it out and help spread the word even if you don't plan to donate (and read her comic if you don't already). Robin's last two print books w
